Oh, one quick tip... heated mattress pads work wonders! We stayed in NYC December 2010 and it was ridiculous cold. We have a regular trailer, not a hybrid, but it was still frigid. The heated mattress pad made life a LOT more bearable, and the dogs LOVED it!

modern family wrote: Thanks all!! I envy all our Canadian neighbors (and northern US) as we would love to see snow sometimes too! We are slowly getting around this large state of Florida. We have Lived here for 20 years and really just been in the Tampa/Orlando area.
We just made reservations for the Florida caverns state park, (Memorial day week-end) Has anyone been ther? I am very excited to go and I think the kids will love it.
Spring is just around the corner for those of you who are snowed in, your RV's are patiently!!!
Went there for our second ever camping trip. We loved it and had a great time. Enjoy!

Where is there a campground in NYC? If there is one, I would assume it's booked up 5 years in advance.

I wish I could tell you the weather will be perfect, but we are getting a "cold" front starting late tomorrow into Saturday, some rain, wind and temps between 40-60 for the next 3 days or so. But, the sun is hot and the fairgrounds always seem 20 degrees hotter than the actual temp!! I am about 20 minutes away from the fair grounds, big fair and good food (for a fair of course)
spoon059 wrote: Do me a favor, turn the heat on now. I'll be pulling in around 5pm next Wednesday and could really go for some 75 degree days and 60 degree nights... Perfect weather for the Florida state fair!

Florida Caverns SP is pretty good. The cave tour is pretty neat. You can rent canoes and do a little canoeing as well.
Another park that you may try is Stephen Foster SP. It is just North of the I75/I10 interchange. Great campsites and some interesting things to do in the park.

You'd be surprised how a hot water bottle at the bottom of a sleeping bag can keep you warm.
