The air leak is probably your problem. The slighest leak will not allow a vaccuum to develope and the pump will never prime. On the job for 14 years is pretty good run but I would give serious consideration to retirement. You could use it just as long as you know you have to keep the water level up in the tank so you have time to find a replacement or repair parts.
