Hoping someone from the Central Valley knows where I can take my rig to get weighed in. Looking into towing our 2.5 ton 4x4 and hope we have the towing capacity.

I've used CAT scales several times...it's easy...just make sure you have the axles on different scales...decide if you want your weight on or just add in later...buzz the lady...she confirms...you go inside to get a ticket...in Texas I pay $9.50.

We have to submit a weight ticket when title is applied for so I made sure the unit was as empty as could be. Then I weighed once it was loaded for our maiden voyage...the only items not in that weighing was us and "the children"...

The difference from my initial weigh (for title) and the loaded was barely 1000 lbs...we are sufficiently under the maximum.

Since most people add and subtract items...I plan to weigh maybe one or twice a year...

99 southbound take Jensen exit. Go straight thru light, gas station with scales on the left. Google "Cat Scales" and they have a list of instructions for weighing.
You can weigh entire rig today and come back within 24 hours and weigh just your tow vehicle.

We have weighed our MH and toad several times at "closed" weigh stations....usually the smaller ones. In most cases, the scales are left on. DW directs me over the scale and I note the weight...then pull forward and weigh the toad.
