There is a very easy replacement kit available for the bathroom vent fan. I did it myself with no problems. The kit is a direct replacement & can be done inside the coach without any modifications.

The product is "Vent Fan Replacement Kit" - Vortex Kit by Heng's Industries. This unit will move some serious air, is a bit loud, but sure beats the old cheap one!

Send me a private email & I will provide pictures.

You should have a Fantastic Fan brand in your RV, majority of RV fans are made by Fantastic Fan. You do not say what is wrong with yours but the Fantastic Fan company is very customer oriented and will ship you any parts that are broken. I would get the model number, serial number and call them and discuss your problem with them. Here is their web site: http://www.fantasticvent.com/

In many MHs there is a cheaplittle 6" fan stuck in the bathroom that makes a lot of noise but does very little to move air. We had a rally set up where they replaced 13 of the fans with Fantastic Fans and most of them went in the bathroom. On low speed so much air is pulled out that it will suck the bathroom door shut. On Medium it really pulls air. On high it will suck you off the seat. All this with less noise than the little crappy one that came with the unit. Those cheapies are not Fantastic products. That has been the case on my last 3 MHs.

When last I was in Quartsite AZ. I picked up a box of 12, I think, 4" computer fans for 10 bucks.. When the bathroom fans quite.. I pulled the old fan out and put in some 4" fans.. Had to do a bit of woodwork to make 'em work quietly but they move more air, and run with less noise, each vent can hold up to 4 of the 4" fans no problem.

Easy job.

Replacing the old motor and blades would also have been easy, Very straight foreward, You should be able to figure it out by inspection.

I suspect the "Whisper fans" will last longer though.

Pay attention to polarity. I am trained in electronics and to me RV 12 volt systems are wired.. Strange.

(If however I put on my electrician hat it makes sense)

Rather than explain the difference, I will just say PAY ATTENTION TO POLARITY.

I just finished looking for a new bathroom fan myself. I found a website (rvvent.com) that will make a custom Fantastic Fan kit. They allow you to choose between a domed or non-domed lid, color of lid, size and color of garnish, etc, etc. The model specifically for a bathroom is their b2000r model. Looks good to me. I'm just waiting to save up the money then I think I'm going for it.
