I'm not currently in the market for my new truck, but I should be in a couple years. I like to keep an eye on things though so as to be an informed consumer when the time comes. My truck config. of choice is a SuperCab short box 4x4. Lately it seems nearly every lot I drive by, all I see is crew cabs. This is just a non-scientific observation, and when my time comes I know I can order if I have to. I was just curious if any others had noticed it. Have the manufacturers done some kind of market study and learned this is what 90% of people want? To those of you who don't have kids etc. and have a crew cab; any regrets? I've had my SuperCab 6 1/2' box truck now for nine years and love it for the easier maneuverability etc. I just kinda wish there were more like that to kick the tires on so to speak. Any thoughts?

Crew cabs sell, extended cabs don't. That's why the dealers stock them, because most people want them. Supply and demand.

I have no children and always choose a crew cab. The supercab on the Ford is just to uncomfortable for rear seating of adult passengers. I love the interior space that you get with the crew cab and since I have a TT the short bed works well for me.

I have a crew cab and long bed. Had a supercab but couldn't fit family back there or dog carriers. I can now carry 4 people in the backseat comfortably. And loads of groceries.

Much more useful. The back seat provides alot more room. I've had regular cabs, extended cabs and now a four door. I don't figure I'll ever have another non-four door truck. It has come in handy way too many times.

Our king cab was great - hauled pets, people, stuff - even our kids sometimes and, since they are adults, everyone had nice room!

The only down side I see to a crew cab is if you live in a city and go to shopping centers where the spaces are marked off for rice rockets. My short bed extended cab will barely fit in the spaces in the Walmart parking lot in town.

I had an extended cab back in 1987 but when it came time to get rid of it, went with the crew cab configuration because of the comfort in the second seat. There is more room for either gear or people than there ever was in our extended cab. I just think the rest of the American car-buying public is finally finding that out.

IMHO It's not nice to make friend & family ride in the back of an extended cab.

I've had regular cab, extended cab with 3 doors, extended cab with suicide doors, and now a crew cab. By far the most comfortable in the back when I do need the ability to move people. Plus it has the easiest access and most storage when I need to move things, which is more frequent. As a business owner, with wife and two kids, it is perfect for us. My family fits and is comfy when we all go, and during the work week I have my laptop, jacket, and toolbox in the back seat with easy access. My F-350 has the load floor thingie that folds out from under the seats to give a solid steel load floor. I've used it several times.
