Hey, between runs to the kitchen to load up with food, the performance seemed to be ok. I'm not familiar with Madonna's stuff all that much but the show seemed lively, noisy, and not the least controversial so I'm a happy camper. Game was great.

I quit watching the half-time "shows" years ago...... I did enjoy the game for what it was, a football game, very well played on both sides and one of the better played games I have seen in a while. It seemed like all the players on both teams played their positions well and I contribute that to good coaching, like them or hate them, both coaches had their teams prepared.

The halftime show and the national anthem are the only parts I watched. Both were very good, especially in comparison with the last few years.

I'm not sure where you got your misinformation from, but Madonna was like almost all other halftime performers at the Superbowl -- not paid a thing. Apparently they do it for the publicity.

Sorry, but I did not like the half-time show. I did at first and then it got dirty. M.I.A.'s performance was rude and obscene. So many events that used to be okay for families to attend with their children have been spoiled by this kind of activity.

I guess you didn't hear about the middle finger during the halftime show.

I have now but I watched this part of the performance and didn't even notice the gesture and after watching reruns, still can't see it so I missed whatever message this singer was sending. You are right however, this apparently makes this half time show controversial.

It was, except for the middle finger. It just wasn't necessary. I didn't even notice it, and I wish that the media never said one word about it, as it would have gone unnoticed by I am sure most. I think the performer WANTED all that attention, so I wish it was never even brought up anywhere by media so that she didn't get what she wanted.
If I was Madonna, I'd be really ticked off at her as it detracted from what was otherwise a really classy, well rehearsed half time show.
A part of me wonders if Madonna did know she'd do it and encouraged it, but IF that were the case, that was a dumb move on her part. I am thinking Madonna is the type who preferred the talk to be all about her, so she probably didn't have anything to do with it since the stupid gesture detracted from the reviews of the show online.

We had the same thought. LOL
As for the middle finger uproar, we didn't even notice it, either. We thought the show was enjoyable, and Madonna did her thing perfectly.
