Hi,

I'd use a battery filler kit. Expensive but nice.
Same here,.. bought it and never looked back. Used it on three coaches so far.

Filler Kit

It required a squeze bulb w/check valve thats extra. Camping world sells the system too.

Hi All. Yes, they are a liitle expensive, but worth every penny if you have Battries that are really hard to get at. I have installed Battery Watering Systems on our last two RV's. One set was for 12 Volt Battries and the other set was for 6 Volt Battries. Sill have the 12 Volt Set as I keep it when we sold our 5er. This Battery Watering System set will make your life pretty simple, as you never have to remove the caps once they are put on, at least not until you have to replace your battries. We would never own anohter RV with out them, period. Even if the Batteries were easy to get to and to fill. This is for sure a better way to go. Perfectly Filled every time, no guess work at all as to what your Battery water Level is. No Fuss, No Mess, and your hands are always clean. Good Luck. Happy Travels. Dan & Jill

Using the auto fill battery fill items listed above is the only way to go in your situation.
Or replace with AGM batteries. But there is a, price sticker, shock factor built in with them.

I use a small mirror with a long flex handle and a flashlight to see down inside the cells. We also have the 3 battery caps that are linked together and come off with one pinch motion. I have a clean piece of 1/8" drip tubing about 6" long that I use as a dipstick to check levels, before and after filling.

I have a plastic bottle and drilled a hole in the original cap and caulked another 6" piece of drip tubing and use this to fill the batteries. I come well above the plates and close to the opening.

The Battery Watering System would seem to be the best solution.

Had this filler kit installed....unfortunately, in our winter climate in Nberaska the lines retain water outside the battery resulting in freezing water in the lines which make filling impossible unless you take the "system" off and thaw it indoors....IMHO, of course

I found the battery filler kit the cheapest at RVupgrades.com. 2 6 Volt around $49.

If you go with the kit, make sure you select the one for your battery type. For example the 6 volt and 12 volt have different filler configurations.

Just FYI ...
