I am thinking about getting a VuCube dish, what I am wanting to know is how important is it to receive HD. Looks like to me I will have to go with Dish network if I want to receive HD and use a VuQube, I have been told Direct does not offer HD with A VuCube!
Thanks for any and all comments.

I have Dishnetwork and do not have HD, and at this point am still alive to talk about it. That said, I'll bet someone will come along to let me know what a caveman I am! Standard definition works just fine for me.

Back when I had Dish, I found the regular signal was pretty darn good and that the HD was better but it was not a huge difference. Now that were are back to cable (yuk!), the difference is huge from the regular to HD channels.

Here is the question....How much TV do you really watch when you are out in the RV?

Is it for bad weather days? Evenings? Or do you spend as much time outside as possible.

Then you can decide if HD is important

Same here.....no HD. Go to friends that have it and I see it. Still can't get off the 10 bucks a month more for it. DirecTV looks just fine on my 65" plasma without HD.

Just according to your demands. Since I do not fulltime, only travel 2 or 3 months a year, I will stay with my Direct non-HD. I do have Comcast HD at my stick house. Picture quality is much better with HD. Be aware, you will be getting HD on your over the air antenna if your TV is HD. Most of the programs I watch are on the network stations.

If you don't want to use Dish then go buy a Jack Antenna for about $60 and you will get all the local channels you want in HD. Do you really watch that much TV? If so then Dish if not try another alternative.

HD is not important until you start watching it and compare it to SD.

I have DTV HD at home and use the same receiver in the rig with HD TV. But the rig dish is SD. I may/may not upgrade the dish.

I like you have to weight the tradeoffs.

I have dish and a vue cube 1000. It looks great on my analog tv and not too bad on a hdtv.you can tell the difference because of led versus tubes, but I will live without hd for the meantime.
