I find myself using the iPhone pretty much when traveling with the RV. Thought I could share my apps here and maybe you have other apps that are useful as well.
What I use is:
* Tomtom for navigation together with a Magellan carkit
* Clinometer for leveling RV
* Checklist
* Gas manager for keeping track of mileage
* Walkie talkie for getting directional assistance from DW while backing up,...
* Flashlight
* Desk clock
* Skype for calling at a free wifi hotspot
* Motion-x for finding back your RV in the great outdoors
* Music while driving
* Movies and series when camping in bad weather
* Browsing rv.net at a free wifi hotspot
* Camera - 8M-pixle picture and HD video taking
Anyone have the same/other apps that are useful?

Our latest find.
A simple journal/calendar
Day One
Flex Player for watching avi files direct without converting, much like VLC on your PC.
Flex Player
P.S.
On our way back from Xmas waaaay up north we got caught in a three hour wait because of a car accident. Fired up the iPad and watched a movie.

Oh, Ranger!
MurphyUSA
I've started getting off the interstates and getting gas at only Murphy stations now instead of J's/Loves.
This app lets me know how far off the interstate and if it's accessible.
Pilot travelcenters
EveryTrail PRO
Weather Alert USA (softpeasllc)
real time info/maps/alerts-IMHO shouldn't RV without this app!
and.......
Angry Birds! You just can't RV without Angry Birds!
10 thumbs up for the new version.....

+1 on the TV antenna locator. BEFORE, I would look at everyone elses antenna...or waste a lot of time looking for a signal. Now I open the app...tap the GPS locate icon. It finds me, and lists the stations... I tap the compass icon or the Google map graphic overlay icon(either method works) orient my antenna accordingly. Go scan the stations --- and I'm done! No guesswork involved. Great Application if you don't own a Satellite System. Even gives you a list of channels so you know where to look for the paticular network.
Of course, if you're camping at Bahia Honda Key ( Florida Keys)...you'll not find a single OTA broadcast that you can clearly receive. We usually go ride our bikes, kayak, walk the dogs, or fish. No App needed for that!

Yes! It's a new law. In fact, we're going to check next time you go out. Be sure to bring your iPhone or there'll be study hall for you

I don't put a lot of those apps on my phone...because I use POI factory to download POI's (points of interest) for my GARMIN device. I have
Florida Campgrounds
Georgia Campgrounds
Rest Stops
Flying J's
Walmarts
Low Overhead Clearances
Camping World Locations
etc...
I don't look for these unless I'm traveling --- so might as well use the GPS vs taking up memory on the phone.
I-HEART Radio is another app for listening to radio broadcast via 3g/4g or WIFI smartphone connection, iPAD, etc...
I think this technology is great! We can stay in touch with family, shop, research, navigate, stream tv shows or movies, check on the camper temp./power status when we're out sightseeing w/ the dogs locked inside, ...heck just being able to dail 911 or find the closest Hospital might be a lifesaver someday.
