Heck thats not hard to do. Just set and dribble every bit of gas you can in fuel tank. Then next stop turn it on wide open and when it goes off call it good. Figure the mileage whitch will be real good and never figure it again.. Works every time.
That would surely give everyone much better gas mileage.

My experience: 2011 Sunseeker 2300, Ford E350 chassis, V10 engine, 2300 miles travelled since delivered, speed = 55-60 mph mostly off freeway over a variety of terrain, no toad. Mileage calculated from distance travelled vs. gallons consumed = 10.3 mpg average from six fillings of the tank.

Hi we have a '05 Gulfstream, 29.5', with the V10, and usually get around 9-10mpg, NEVER above that, we usually drive at 55mph only. In hilly country, I just fill it more often. Its only money. GGGGGEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ I would love to get 15mpg with the V10.But I don't think that will ever happen.

Try that calculation using CANADIAN gallons...20% better mileage.

Canadians can only get away with that mathematical deception because this whole topic thread is addressing the issue from the wrong angle.

What we should be talking about is V10 miles-per-fuel-dollar ... not V10 miles-per-fuel-gallon.

Hi pnichols,

My "since I purchased" average cost is 24.42 cents per kilometer or about 39 cents per mile for fuel.

My over all costs, not including groceries nor purchase price are 48.53 cents per kilometer or 77.6 cents per mile.

In 2011 those numbers were 26.62 cents per kilometer or 42.6 cents per mile, and overall costs were 40.72 cents per kilometer or 65.2 cents per mile.

Total costs (not including groceries nor purchase price) are $30,872.80

Fuel mileage since inception is averaging 26.93 liters per 100 kilometers, 10.47 mpg imperial, or 8.73 mpg US.

The cost numbers above are in Canadian dollars.

Instead of guessing with how much fuel you get each time and if you are full or not get a scan gauge 11 it won't lie. Mine says stay 55 no quick starts and I can get 8 to 81/2 mpg tops. I have a 29 foot with a slide. The reason I said 8 MPG is I have a toad ,without it it's 81/2mpg But I really can't understand why all the hoopla or why you care after all it's a home on wheels no?

I get really great gas mileage with my Jeep Liberty when it is being towed by my motor home. I should flip the two around so my motor home gets great gas mileage. Oh wait, I think that would then be called a 4 wheel-down travel trailer.

All joking aside, when vacationing with a tow vehicle, an accurate method in calculating over-all vacation fuel economy would be taking the miles driven divided by gallons consumed of the two vehicles combined.

I have never done that type of MPG calculation. It would be interesting.

Speaking of V10 Class C gas mileage ... here's an interesting angle I'd REALLY like to get to the truth on regarding gas mileage for V10 Class C motorhomes late enough to have the 5-speed transmission with TOW/HAUL mode:

For "V10 motorhome travel under average contitions" (whatever that is), in which mode does one get the best mileage - TOW/HAUL mode, or standard mode?

I'll guesstimate that it might be with TOW/HAUL mode always engaged because a Class C motorhome is always hauling around quite a load ... unlike delivery trucks which oftimes are empty or nearly empty. When hauling, the transmission's torque converter is slipping less during acceleration in TOW/HAUL mode so overall average efficiency should be higher.

I'm considering leaving the transmission always in TOW/HAUL mode when traveling to perhaps get slightly improved gas mileage.
