If an axle is 3" in Dia, 3K spring pack is 2" thick and spring pearch is 1/2" to 3/4" and you reverse their position I can not see how you can end up with anything less than 5 1/2 inches of lift ?
I welded in 12' long sections of 2"x3" rectangular Stock on both sides for my tripple axle. Love it, everything looks as it should.
For me 3" was the magic number but there was no way to get there with an axle flip.
Maybe he said at least...quite honestly, it sounded like he had a super bowl hangover and he wasn't very clear on some things.
My point was, if the OP lowers his truck AND flips the axle, I'm guessing he'll be nose down. If your figures are correct, it will be even more dramatic than if it boosts it 4". Too cold here to go measure stuff on my trailer. Maybe I'll be able to go look at mine on the weekend.
Where did you weld in 12' long sections of 2x3? Was that in lieu of 3" blocks? Whats the truck/5er gap you were shooting for?

Trailer came stock with 15" rims and tires. We all know how that senerio plays out so I wanted to switch to 16" and a good LT tire.
When fully loaded, I had about 1 1/2" from the top of the tire to the fender well and it was starting to show ware marks where the tires were touching the top of the fender well.
I had about 6" of bed rail clearence which was very tight for going offroad.
The spring hanger system on my trailer was jig made with 2x2" square tubing with three cross supports all welded together then welded to the I beam running length wise. I removed axles, used die grinder and cut out enitre jig made hanger frame and welded the 2 x 3 stock inbetween them.
I now have 3" from top of tire (fully loaded) to fender well, 9" of bed rail clearence and the trailer also had 3 entry steps so that worked out good. Ramp angle is steeper but not bad.
I didnt want to go any higher than I needed to.

That's where I got my EZ ride kit, I'll certainly call them, seem first rate. I'm going to take it out this weekend so I can see exactly where it needs to go. Just got the lowering shackles and need to see how they are going to fit; hoping this works as the stink bug look of the truck and the huge volume above the rear wheels is stupid as well. This weekend is just a short trip up Stephens Mine road so no big dips other than gas stations and I'm good enough for that.

Just be careful- that looks darn close. Stink to put a dent in a new truck.
I had the accurate guys do some work on my rig last Summer- I broke a leaf spring on my way to Mammoth on the 14. He had the part in stock and had me back on the road in an hour. Really first class and the pricing was very fair.
When I flip the axles this Spring I am taking the rig to him.

And when you need ONE weight distribution spring bar to replace a missing one, they'll have it. They'll charge a premium for one bar, but that's no surprise.
It's a good shop.

I even know right where I lost it, flipping a u-turn on Garlock road in the rain and in the dark the first time we ever went to Spangler. I combed the roadside for a long time, but never could find it again. I think about it every time I drive past the curve on Garlock.
All that trouble just to take the wrong route through Randsburg anyway.

Not sure what you're referring to really. My old truck had no issues (same as yours), new one is much taller.
Installing the new shackles tonight.
