We had a breakdown on interstate 10 in Palmsprings when our alternator seized and broke the belt around 2 in the afternoon. . Glad I had side mount radiator as I was able to get at and remove the alternator on our 400 cummins diesel pusher on the shoulder of the highway. Got the alternator and reinstalled at about 4.45 and it was getting dark. I had extra belt I had got from cummins but i could not get them on as i thought they where to short. I went to Nappa and got there about quater to six before they closed and Tyler Marshal Manager of operations helped me with the belts. I told him we on the side of the highway just before cook street. I bought several sizes and headed back to the coach. Just after I got back Tyler from Nappa drives up behind and parks behind us on the higway. I asked him why he was here and he told me he knew we were stranded and he wanted to make sure we had the right belts or parts if we need to get us going and not be stranded. He helped with putting the belt on as it took all the strenght I had to compress the tensinor with both hands for the belt and he was right in there with me in the engine compartment and we got the belt on. If he had not stopped I would never had been able to install the belt myself. Tyler a great person with big heart for stopping to make sure we got going again. Tyler's family owns all 3 Nappa stores in the Indio Palm Springs area and I was schocked by how he went out of his way to help someone. Thanks Tyler!!!

A well written kudos to the NAPA guy. These are the people in the world that make a difference. It is right to let them know about it.

Thanks for sharing, all too often we hear of the bad stories but not the good ones.
I prefer NAPA in general as their folks do focus on service, and the parts guys/gals actually know cars, not just how to look things up in a computer.

We prefer our local Napa store also as they actually search to get parts made in USA or Canada rather than China. It makes a big difference if you want it to last.

JMHO but I'd have labeled the thread "thanks to Tyler Marshal.
Just like most all large multi store chains with counter service it really depends on who waits on you. In our local NAPA store I'd wait an hour if I had to to be waited on by one counter guy. He'd take the time to really help you rather than just hit a few buttons on the computer and say "we don't stock that".
Here's to you Tyler Marshal .... SALUTE!!!

Really good to hear such a great story ... we need to know these things. We travel through that area often and will remember to give the folks some of our business.

Thats really nice and it's good to hear you can still get quality service.
However, if you got a rebuilt alt from Napa, you can expect it to last about 1~2 years so keep an eye on your volt meter!
