Although there are less expensive others, I have had a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx for a number of years & it still does the job...

I use the Garmin Oregon. No cheap date but full color mapping that looks great in direct light, big touchscreen, easy to read and no buttons.

We ride in Nevada all the time, from Winnemucca to Beatty, it gets us home everytime. The key is that it is so easy to use.

I have a cheap Garmin NUVI with a spring clip so I can attach it to the handlebars of my trail bikes or the dash of the car, truck, or airplane. Works great for me, very rugged. It also has TOPO maps installed. Makes it easy to retrace your route to get back to camp, just follow the blue line.
