My niece just bought her first RV. It's a 1983 starcraft pop up camper with an allstar/aerostar lifter system. Something happened, I'm not sure if a pulley broke, I shear pin, the cable itself, ect. I am starting to look into it later today and tomorrow. Any tips, advice, or suggestions would be helpful. I have never messed with any of these before.

I am on my cell phone, I will do a search later when I get home. I thought I would post this and hope to get lucky with some advice.

Thanks in advance.

Many Jayco pop ups are very easy to work on concerning the lift system. Usually on the end where the crank fits, there should be a cover to remove where you can see the cable system. Usually accessed from inside the trailer. Depending on just what the problem is you should be able to find the issue fairly quickly in most cases. If, for example, there is one corner that is not raising as it should you will find that the single cable attached to the lift attaches to four other cables going to each corner of the trailer. Usually they are attached via eye bolts and it is more likely that the problem is with the eye-bolts than the cables themselves. If NONE of the cables are lifting the problem is likely the single cable before it gets to the eye bolt junction. It's all pretty self evident once you get in there. Good luck / Skip
