I've read a lot about the work experiences while at Amazon but not much about the sites they include. I'll be in Kentucky this Oct. and I'm looking for pros & cons about Heartland, Indian Ridge, Three Springs and Green River. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Blessings, Mrs Fitz

Like everywhere you go, it depends on what you want and what you like. We were at Three Springs and then Heartland last year. 2011. Three Springs was the best place to stay. Larger site and more room. Heartland was a good site too, but not so roomy. In my opinion these two were the best. Heartland is on edge of town and across the street from Amazon. Three Springs is 15 miles from town, 30 from Amazon, but near the lake. Heartland is almost imposible to get into in October-December because it is so close to Amazon and I think cheaper. Heartland has small laundry facility but I don't think T S has one.

We stayed at 3 Springs this season. I agree with the big sites, servicable wifi, full hookups with good 50 amp power. It is away from things. You drive 10 miles one direction to get to the laundramat and Wal-Mart, and 16 miles the other way to get to Amazon and Campbellsville. We liked our stay there and will try to go there again next year.
Both retired. Travel with Nicky the Schnoodle. Son graduated and is teaching high school math. We still love our 2006 34' Allegro Bay XB and have 40,000+ miles on her.

Thanks for the info. I understand it's personal preference where to stay but I'm new to the area and Rving. I'll be working at Amazon Oct.-Dec. and need to make a reservation site unseen. Anyone else have some input? Blessings, Marianne

Marianne: As soon as I can get it uploaded, I'll post a pic of the Three Springs campsites. We were this year.
When we applied at the Kentucky Amazon facility in July, we were able to drive up there and apply in person. We also got the list of the campgrounds and visited all of them while we were there that day. Heartland, albeit right across the street, was way too tight for our preferences. We found the Stables and Green River to be tight and unlevel. Indian Ridge, about 10 miles south of Amazon, was in pretty much the same shape. (I always went there to get my propane tanks filled though.) Three Springs was the best in our opinion. The drive took approximately 25-30 minutes.
The owners at Three Springs were great folks.
If we were to go back to work at Amazon, we would stay at Three Springs again.
Edit to add link to campground pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v107/Leathercrafter/DSCN1079.jpg
(The pic was too large to upload here.)

Hi Leathercrafter, Thanks for the info. I went to look at pic on photobucket but couldn't find it. Do I have to be a member? Do you think you'll go back to Amazon for 2012 season? Blessings, Marianne

Hubby and I stayed at Indian Ridge Campground and really liked it. We travelled with three small dogs so having a place to take them walking and sniffing around etc. We started out on site 57 but bought a larger camper and moved to site 56 which was larger and had an open area for the dogs to walk about at night before bed time. The owners are really nice, Connie and Rocky and they go out of their way to work with you to make your stay pleasureable. They have a meeting room where we had our Thanksgiving meal and is usually available as game room. They have an adult lounge with a large screen TV, books for reading and a game table for chess, jigsaws etc. They have a laundry that is nice a clean with aboujt three washers and three driers (I think). They also have WIFI but had a couple of problems in the beginning with it. They have some sites that do not have sewer but they also do a honey wagon service that is included for Amazon people. We were originally assigned to a site without sewer that was unlevel but we only spent one night in it before a fhu came available.
We also drove around to the other campgrounds except for Three Rivers. I had originally wanted to be at Heartland so I could walk to work as Hubby was not working and so might need the truck. The area is all gravel and the sites are quite close together. When your awning is out you may have about 3 feet from its edge to the camper next door. If they do not park their rig correctly you may not be able to put your awning out. You are encouraged to walk your dogs outside fo the campground which means the grass verge of the road leading to the campground. The lot across the road may be part of the campground and may be used for expansion (heard rumours to that effect). They have a very nice meeting room that we used for the first meeting with Amazon. They also seemed to have pot luck meals every other Saturday so are active in get togethers. There are rules for walking across to Amazon, must wear a florescent vest that they will supply, and a crossing guard is not available until they start "Peak" time. One day it was so foggy I couldn't see pedestrians until I was almost on top of them. thank goodness for the vests and for those who carried flashlights!
The Stables is very near the State Park and had more "green" area but again the sites seemed close together. I knew some people who camped there and loved it and said that they had lots of get togethers.
We almost missed finding the Green River Resort and Marina as it is not at the Marina! These sites are very close together and seemed like they would be hard to get into if they are full. It is on a corner so that there are two ways to get into it which can help. We drove to the State Park but not down to the actual sites. We did talk to people who stayed there that said the sites were large and well maintained but are 30 amp only, no 50 amps, and no sewer. Amazon does arrange to have some company come around two times per week to handle the "honey wagon" chore but not sure if you have to be there to get it done. The Stable, State Park and Green River Resort and 5-8 miles from Amazon. Indian Ridge is 8 miles from Amazon and 10 miles to Walmart.
There was one more campground on the list provided by Amazon that was supposed to be in town and in a quiet area. Only supplosed to be about 15-20 sites, but we could never find it even using our GPS. We also did not get any response to our phone calls.
When I called the campgrounds to check on space, if they were full I asked to be placed on their waiting list. I got calls from the Stable and Heartland as they had cancellations after I got to town or they had people who left early (yes that happens) but we were so happy at Indian Ridge we decided to stay. I set up a car pool with some other people on the same shift as me so I drove every other day and that was not bad.
Hope this helps you with your decision. Remember that if the campground you start out in does not fit your needs you may well be able to change to another. As long as you keep in touch with Amazon and let them know where you are, and co-ordinate things with the various campground owners then things will work out fine.

Mrs. Fitz: Glad you found a campground that you'll be satisfied with.
Let's see if I can get a picture of the Three Springs spot to show:
