I would like to know if what is called Pro Series Hitch is a Reese Hitch or just a knock off. I know it is distributed by a Michigan Company but at no time they associate Reese's name and Pro Series together.
However on this site, I often read Reese Pro Series.
Curious, because that is what they put in my truck bed. A Pro Series 15K on slide as I have an extended cab.
Also, Pro"s and con's would be beneficialto me.

I have a 15k Reese Pro Series hitch also. It does not have the Reese name on it, but it was marketed as a Reese hitch. I have been satisfied with mine for over a year now.

If you look on the Reese website the Pro line of hitches are listed so it appears they are their entry line of hitches.

re-assurring, thought for a while that I might have been taken advantage of and had ended up with a chinease knock off. Still not 100% sure, but if Reese peddles them, it should have some quality built into it. For the price I paid for the hitch and installation, I sure hope so! 1450$

I have a pro series 15k hitch. No complaints. Bought it thru Craigslist for 125.00. Already had the hitch rails. It has the slide over locking pin instead of the dual locking jaws. I suppose it may have a little more king pin movement than the jaws but I don't have to worry about it coming unhooked once the slide is closed. Just lock the handle and forget about it.

Had the 15,000 pro. a good hitch but I thought the upper pins had to much play and caused a little chucking when starting and stopping. No problems towing at all,a good safe hitch.

I thought the Pro Series hitch was Reese's entry level hitch, and made in China.

I,ve had a Reese PRO 15000 with square slider for the past 6 years. Great hitch...no worries if claws are closed or not. I can easily move the hitches by hand forward of backward.

A bit of chucking but if that bother anyone you will need gold lined highways.

The pro series 15k was mounted in my truck with my first 5er purchase. The dealer said that it was "suffient". During the time of use, I notice a "chucking" and asked around how to fix that problem. I was told that I needed to adjust my hitch. I couldn't find any adjustment. Another thing, the "bar" coupler was wearing out my kingpin. I wrote a question to "Trailer" magazine and the guys said that the "wear" wasn't an issue. I didn't like it and others that I traveled with, didn't have that kind of wear.

A buddy gave me a Draw-Tite 16k, it has a "clam" style coupler. I feel better about this hitch. I do a pull test, every time, now! Because on the "bar" style coupler, you know, by looking, that it's "hitched". I guess it just what you like.
