DW and I will be attending the Cherry Blossom Festival in D.C. in April. We have reservations at the Cherry Hill RV Park. Their ad states that they have bus service to and from D.C. daily. Have any of you been to this festival in the past? Have you stayed at this park before? Any tips or suggestions? This will be the 100th year anniversary celebration since Japan donated the Cherry Trees in 1912. Thanks and happy travels!

We have stayed there several times. Very nice, full service campground. Regular bus service near the campground office via Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. You can make a connection with the Metro (trolley) quite easily. The folks in the office are very helpful giving information/suggestions.

Haven't been, but thanks for putting this out there. Would love to take the kids next year.

4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.

As one who worked around DC and suburbs for several years, the key to survival is learning to use the Metro system. Once you get the hang of it you can get about anywhere you'd want to go with a ton less hassle than driving.

We have stayed there a few times and as identified, great park with a helpful staff. Traveling into and out of DC is a breeze with the bus/Metro and there is plenty to see and do. You can easily spend a week in the Smithsonian alone. Enjoy your trip.

We spent a week there and it was nice. The Wifi was spotty out towards the back but that was five years ago so they may have improved it. We took a two day Grayline tour of D.C. it was a bit pricey but well worth it.

We never drove into the city, always used the bus which comes to the campground. Parking is a bit of pain in D.C.

I lived there for a couple years in the 60's and really miss the Cherry Blossom festival.

Just be prepared for anything weatherwise. It's a very volatile time of the year the weatherman.

I went in 2005 and again (but too late) in 2010. Since my daughter was living in DC (and we didn't have the trailer, we didn't stay at Cherry Hill...

I also suggest the Spy Museum. We couldn't get the Granddaughters to leave until they put us out for closing.

Was there 4-07. BUSY!! If you have any alergies, be ready. CH campground is well run and as close as possible. Metro's a must. Parking will be impossible any where near the monuments and thats home to the blossems. A memerable trip!
