Oh by the way, I did none of it myself so it was pricey but worth it to me.

Goldencrazy, Do you remember about how much it cost? I already had air bags in the back of my mind with adding TigerTrak to the rear. Also something for the steering also.

Thanks to the ones who responded! I was hoping to get more ideas and suggestions in order to make a well informed decision and I have tried to do some research on the internet. When I do make some changes I will post back my results. Again thanks for the few who took the time to respond.

97' F53 chassis, 32' Southwind, approximate weight ready for travel is 15K.

1st - Rear air bags (75 psi) and poly sway bar bushings front and rear. Helped considerably.

2nd - Steer Safe. More improvement.

3rd - FSD's in front, no help with anything, except a lighter pocketbook.

4th - Front air bags (25 psi). Ride is enjoyable now for an F53.

Because I have too much time on my hands, I am experimenting with a DIY front trac bar. I cannot tell if it has helped anything, as there was so little movement left from trucks passing.

Ken,
You think maybe the wind, what could be upsetting the handling making your coach sway.

I guess it could just be me, but seems like for the past few years, there's more wind blowing across North Carolina than before. Maybe, it is we have a unit larger than those we've had before & I didnt realize the effects because the others were smaller. That wind has has been an issue seems like every trip.

We have a 99 F53 with 19.5 tires & only thing I've done so far, have replace the tires & shocks, went to a 16 ply & when the winds not blowing it drives right well.
Other than the harsh ride from bad roads & unbelievable built bridges, the handling is ok far as driving it
I would think your 2011 chassis, would be far more improved over our 99, but I'm only guessing.
Have a friend in Cary has a 2010 F53 Southwind, I've heard him complain a bit about handling & power, but not had a chance to drive it myself for a test.

I do know this, after checking around for those poly replacement sway bar bushings, the 97 year & earlier F53 chassis, has a 1 1/2" rear sway bar & 1999~2011 years a 1 3/8" 36mm smaller bar.
That could have some affect I would think, unless the smaller bar it stronger.
Neil
