Would you use Natural Gas in your Motorhome or Tow Vehicle?
A barebones network of NG fueling stations is being rolled out as interest in his fuel is picking up. I wonder if RV usage would increase as this cheaper and cleaner burning fuel becomes available.

Probably not but they say they got some investors here thats gonna take wood shavings and saw dust mix it with a little Natural an make Gasoline I might try soma that.

I would not consider natural gas as a fuel. As a fleet mechanic we tried natural gas in a number of applications and found that since it has a lower BTU content then gasoline or diesel fuel we needed larger tanks on the vehicles to equal the mileage that a vehicle could run on gas or diesel. In some applications there wasn't enough room for larger tanks so the vehicles had to fueled more often. This wasn't a big issue in our fleet since we never traveled far from base. But I could see a big problem with traveling far from home with an RV and trying to locate a fuel stop. Power was a bit lower also which caused more fuel to be used to make up the difference. JMO

http://www.gohaynesvilleshale.com/forum/topics/clean-energy-unveils-backbone-network-for-america-s-natural-gas Those of us old enough to remember when gasoline used to be "Cheaper", & now that usage has increased, what happened to the "Cheaper", when gas was $.25 a gallon, diesel was "cheaper" at $.17 a gallon, then the big change to diesel, usage increased, & so much for the "cheaper" diesel, the same thing will happen when they BS everyone into using NG.

Not unlike what they are doing with the alcohol they are percenting in right now.

they would need to increase the efficiency many times to make NG a viable alternative to present fuels. I imagine this can be done. I can remember when if you got 16 mpg you bragged about it, today 26 mpg is common to poor. I still think diesel electric is the way to go for RV's and big trucks.

2% of all CVPI's we built were NG ... cost benefit was not really worth it , but for large Municipality's it was a cost saving

during the big gas crunch of the 70's many an RV was converted over to dual use fuel - gasoline and natural gas... You can still find some older used ones today that are dual fuel...
It worked well, but natural gas has a lower BTU output than gasoline so mileage was worse, but that was back when it was hard to find gas stations that has gasoline...
