I wanted to spend a long weekend in Branson. The MH is winterized so we decided to rent a nice (translation nice=expensive) condo on the lake. Well we drive up yesterday, carry everything in, unpack, food from ice chest to fridge, etc. Condo was beautiful, two bedroom, two bath, fishing theme, so I am thinking this is going to be great. Built a fire and kicked back. It seems a little cold, we find out the heat is not working. Decide to go to bed and worry about the next morning. Jump into the king size bed, I believe this had to be the worst bed I have ever tried to sleep in (key word tried). Went to the other bedroom and same thing. It was so soft I sunk about eight inches into the bed. Long story short, got up at daylight this morning and came home. The cost for one night would have paid the fuel up and back. Next time I will de-winterized and sleep in my own bed. Now if I could just figure out how to get that wood burning fireplace in the MH.

The fireplace is OUTSIDE with the RV but you don't HAVE to dewinterize to sleep in your bed, use the furnace or the fridge

I understand, I hate hotels. Wife wants to visit kids in spring and stay in hotel. Got real mixed feelings about how I wish that would work out.

All I can think of now when I see a Hotel/Motel bed is all the other people that have slept there... or not.

We just returned from a week-long getaway to our nation's capital and we stayed in a hotel that was very, very nice; but dang, I missed my own bed.

I did check it for bedbugs before we even opened our suitcases or anything! I also carry Lysol to spray down the bathrooms before we use it. I washed the cups, coffee maker; wiped off the desk, TV, remote and anything else I could think of.

I'm not really a germophobe, but YUCK, I've seen way too many Dateline's, The Doctors and other shows about hotels.

On the 2nd night, I told the DH that this was our last hotel visit.....we will be using the TT the next time.

With either of our TTs we have our OWN bed and our OWN bathroom plus we have a place with us for an emergency pitstop and we've both had more than one emergency pitstop.

Mine is the most expensive room I've ever bought, or rented. It's the cost of this type of luxury. But, it's the best method of travel, for us and the puppies. I love to drive my rig, and I love to stay in it.
Don't take it for granted.

I have to agree with all of it. Most of the hotels we have been in have been over seas and the worst beds were in the priciest places.

$500 a night in PV MX and we thought they had tossed a blanket over a sheet of ply wood.

We stayed in a church in Rome and thought wow cool till we found out the beds were straw filled.

Here in the US I went home to shoot my nieces wedding. They couldn't stop telling us about the sleep number beds they had. After one night I can tell you I'll never own one and the floor was more comfortable.

We do tend to get pretty spoiled having our own bed, our own bathroom, kitchen etc.
