Where do you want to go? A lot of other roads go from east to west. I like I40

Depends on the time of the year. We like 20 better due to places to stay and easy access to fuel. But we travel both.

10 was in real good shape coast to coast for the most part last February. Some construction in a few places but nothing horrible.
If it's in Jan, Feb time frame it will probably be snow free. Haven't been on 20 yet so don't know about it.

I've been on both from Atlanta to Dallas (I-20) and Mobile to Houston (I-10). I think I 10 Has the better road now. Also, as already said, snow is a possibility on I-20 in winter months, but not on I-10. Lots of trucks on both, but more on I-20 than I-10.

It depends on where you are departing from, what time of year, how long you have, destination, what you would like to see, what kind of scenery you wish to see, etc.
We prefer the northern routes...I-70, 80, 90 -just enjoy that scenery better and also we actualy try to stay off the Interstate highways as much as possible.

We travelled I-20 recently in a car, from Dallas to Florence, SC. A bit of construction in LA, MS, AL, but nothing major. This was the first time I'd been on that road in years. Not too bad.
Haven't travelled I-10 east in years; used to take I-20 west to its junction with I-10, then I-10 on to Phoenix. Good, wide-open road for the most part.
