Hi, Folks - I'm looking to visit the cemetery only; not necessarily interested in going into DC proper. Can anyone point me to a campground/RV park on the "Arlington Side" of the city which may even run a shuttle to the cemetery? Say, within 10 - 15 miles?
Thank you!

Greenbelt NP
Cherry Hill RV Park
Either one is close to the Metro. I don't know of any closer.
When you are at Arlington Cemetery, you are in essence in DC.

Thanks, Sidney. We actually stayed at Cherry Hill a few months ago and took the Metro into the city from there. Looking for something closer, if possible. From Cherry Hill it's about 45 - 55 mins. into downtown, via bus and train - and then from downtown to Arlington....(?) I'll check out Greenbelt. Thanks again.

check out Prince William Park. South on I-95 towards Quantico.
Take I-95 south to exit 150-B (VA Route 619/Joplin Road). The park entrance is the second right.
Probably not a shuttle to Arlington.

Also, there is Lake Farifax Park in Reston.

lived in the N VA area for many years...close to the bike trail if you want a nice ride into town and Arlington. Otherwise, you will have to drive and metro to get around from an RV site...

Bull Run Regional Park, Lake Fairfax Park (I believe both only offer power hookup sites.) you have Fredricksburg KOA, Hillwood Camping Park (little further west on i66 from Bull Run.)

Both Pohick Bay Regional Park and Bull Run Regional Park are on the Arlington side of the city. Both have full hook-ups available. Both parks are very nice and well kept. There isn't much in the way of parking at the cemetery but its a relatively short drive from both CGs, probably 40 mins with no traffic. Metro may be the better alternative to driving all the way there. Bull Run is about 15 min away from the Vienna, VA Metro Station. Take I-66 east towards Washington DC, its an easy exit off the interstate to the station. There you would get on the orange line to Rosslyn Station and transfer to the blue line which will take you directly to the cemetery. Pohick Bay is about 10 min away from the Springfield, VA Metro Station. Take I-95 north to Springfield Metro station and get on the blue line. This train will take you directly to the cemetery. The station is not on the interstate but signage is pretty clear and it is not very far from the highway. It is very important to keep in mind rush hour traffic. Wash, DC traffic is among the worst in the US. Rush hour is bad on either of these roads and lasts from 6 - 10AM going towards the city and 3;30 - 7 PM going away from the city. Metro is very crowded as well.

Bull Run Park, Centreville. VA now has full hook ups at many sites. Depending on the time of day you want to travel to Arlington....traffic can be a bother. After 10:00AM you can ride I-66 almost all the way there.

I think Prince William Park would be the closest, but not sure about shuttle, or how close it is to the Metro. We had a toad when we stayed there, so we weren't concerned.
Good luck.

We have been looking at Pohick Park. It is on the Virginia side of DC near Alexandria and not very far from Arlington.
