I was speaking with a salesman from the only Arctic Fox dealer in Michigan who says they order all their AF campers with storm windows. I asked him about the dual thermo pane windows and he said that dual panes have been vulnerable to seals breaking due to the flexing of the camper on the truck. I've seen dual panes in homes where the seals have broken and it's not a pleasent view. So, is this a valid statement or a salesman talking? What are the opinions of storms windows verses dual pane? How much more of an option are we talkiing about?

Thanks

Sounds like he wants to sell you something on the lot. My last RV I had for 10 years....never a problem with any of the dual panes. I now have them in my 2010 AF TC and I love them. Call Northwood and get your info from the horses mouth. I don't trust too much of anything an RV salesman tells me.

I was told by one of the owners of Northwood manufacturing that in his opinion the storm windows were what he would want. They are removable and you can store them when not in use, they cost a lot less and they weigh a lot less.

I would vote for the storm windows, too.
Even if the thermo's carried a 10 year warranty, I'd be concerned that the company making the windows would be out of business in less than 10 years.

I'd be looking at how much trouble storm windows are to put in and take out. I'd also take a look at where they'd be stored when not in use.

We often take off in cold weather, so we can spend time in warm weather. It would seem thermal panes would work better for us anyway.

Various manufacturers use different brands of windows. Hehr and Dometic seem to appear most often. They've been around quite a while and seem to be reliable companies.

If I was to do it again (never to late), I would have both...I have the therm dual panes in my AF and wishin I had the storms to....never had an issue with the hot or cold...no broken seals, mine are very well made and wouldn't have a TC without. As a matter of fact, It is on the top of my list of things to have next to solar.

do a search for problems with dual pain windows. I would prefer the storms myself, no fogging or expensive replacement ahead. had them on my bounder, didn't order them when I rebought.

Dual pane windows provide a little better acoustical insulation.
They weigh more. They cost more.
5-years and 55K miles and no leaks on my dual panes.
