We are planning to go to St. Louis, MO near the end of October. Any recommendations on where to stay near St. Louis?
Also looking for somewhere to stay along the way...maybe near Lancaster, WI?
We have a 37' Class A.

there is a casino in st louis that has a fine campground. Assuming all you want is a place to park and sleep. full hook ups as i remember. the name is something like casino queen..close to arch which can be seen from your camper.

We stayed a couple of weeks at Sundermeier Campground in St Charles, which is about 40 minutes outside the city. Not a great resort place, but it has paved roads, concrete pads and a good restaurant. St Charles is a nice little town to walk through.
Not a lot of choices close to the city.

We are at Sundermeier RV Park in St. Charles, MO right now. Been here a week. Nice park with all paved and grass with cable TV and WiFi. It is in a residential area near old downtown St Charles. Has a restaurant and is basically a suburb of St Louis.
We also stayed for a few days at the KOA in Granite City, IL across the river from St Louis. Gravel interior roads and sites with grass and trees. It is in an industrial area and also near race track so is kinda noisy, and the picnic tables are junky. Has Wifi - no cable TV. It does have a pool and playground where Sundermeier doesn't. KOA is about $40 per nite and Sundermeier is about $50.
I prefer Sundermeier myself.

Pin Oak Creek Park off I44 in Villa Ridge is where we have stayed a few times when visiting in laws from Missouri just outside of St. Louis. Local attractions like; Grants Farm, St. Louis Arch, St. Louis Science Center, Big Foot truck, Purina Farms, Budweiser Brewery Tour, Meramec Caverns and State Parks, WalMarts (in Union or Washington) are all not too far away.
Not sure if it will be up yet, but Yogi Bear park in Pacific has an awesome Christmas light show that is really worth a drive through if things are set up.

2nd not staying at casino. Was there a few weeks ago, was unable to use sewer at site due to connection being right next to road, No way was hose going to reach since I also had tow dolly to get out of road. Cost was 32.65 per night.

We just left St Louis this past Sunday and stayed at Babler Memorial State Park for less than $20.00 a night. Very clean, quiet and wooded but only electric hook up. The park is about 12 miles from St Louis. Next trip to St Louis we will stay at Babler again. Park phone is - 636-458-3813

There is a K.O.A. across fom 6 flags in Eureka, Pin Oak in Villa Ridge about 15 min. from Eureka but after road construiction, Casino Qween in E. St. Louis not a good area but I hear that security is good and I think there is still a camp ground in downtown St. Louis I know that area and wouldn't recommend it. Then up in St. Charles there is Sundermeyer Camp ground I hear it's expensive and over rated. Myself I haven't stayed at any of them so I'm just giving names and hearsay. Oh I almost forgot Yogi Bear Park in Eureka if they haven't closed by then to put up their Christmas display.
