We are in the fall planning stages and was wondering about traveling the route listed above in Nov? I am concerned about the chances of snowfall and driving in a mh.
thanks for your comments. Las Vegas to the Bay Area it is. Through Tahoe would be a much prettier drive but I don't want to risk the chance of snow. I have been there in the summer and in the winter, just didn't know that snow in Nov is such a possibility.
Again thanks

The Sierras have the potential of turning white during November. I would check the cal trans web site, that include pictures from cameras, for road conditions.

November in S Lake Tahoe is a great possibility that you will have snow and a possibility that you will need chains to get out of Tahoe on Hwy50. But there is also a chance that you won't. Pretty hard to predict until you get a little closer to that date. I am not sure what RV parks in the area will be open at that time of year. Mayabe someone else might have a better perspective.

Once you start North your options to cross the Sierras narrow. Do you need to go to Tahoe? If Tehachapi is open (more likely) you'll have clear sailing.

As has been said you run the chance of dealing with snow at that time of year. There is a park in Truckee that I believe is open at that time of year and I know that Tahoe Valley Campground at the south end of the lake is open year round. Depending on the size of your motorhome I would strongly suggest taking I-80 west from Nevada and if you need stay at the lake, go around the east shore. The road on the west side, especially near Emerald Bay is narrow and has a couple of switchbacks that could be an issue, especially in bad weather.

Zephyr Cove Resort is a GREAT RV park on the south east side of the lake. I believe they are open year round as well.

I have lived in the foothills just south of Reno for 40 years. When you say November, there is a BIG difference between early and late November. Best bet is to watch the 5 to 10 day weather forecast and keep your fingers crossed. One thing about early November is that while the chance of snow is a possibility, it is not likely to stick on the roads very long so plan on extra time just in case.
