We have been going there for 11 yrs. It is a 55+ park. It has large (about 40 x 60) sites with concerete patios. It's not listed in any CG guide probably because it doesn't have to. It is usually sold out for the season by the previous February but it never hurts to try. There are about 400 sites and all but about 40 are seasonal. The park is family owned and extremely well maintained. They strictly enforce the rules but we see that as a +. It's one of the neatest, cleanest parks we've ever stayed in. It has a large swimming pool and clubhouse. It has a challenging 9 hole, par 29 golf course. Park residents can buy a 10-play card for $90. We also have the usual shuffleboard, bocce, and horseshoes.
Don't let the Arcadia address confuse you. The park is actually on the very south edge of DeSoto county and is closer to Punta Gorda (~8 mi.) than it is to Arcadia (~12mi.)
On the minus side - no WiFi, no cable.
They have a web site but it's not the usual with park maps, on-line reservations, etc. It's just an info site for park residents.
Check it out at Live Oak web site
As you might guess, we love it!!
