Guys & Gals;
Were heading south for a month or so in mid sept. Hoping to find a good
destination camp spot on or at the beach in Florida. Destin or other.
Any recommendations welcome.

Their is a nice park in Destin where you can park right on the Gulf Beach, don't remember the name but I am sure some one else will chime in and give you the name and address of it.

Camping on the Gulf at www.Campgulf.com/

Little expensive but great beach sites or just off the beach full hookups. The beach sites have no sewers and no pets allowed on the beach sites.

We're also heading for Florida next month (weather permitting, hurricanes). We decided to try www.emeraldbeachrvpark.com . It seems the prices are running a little lower, perhaps due to the "oil spill".

Good luck!

We stayed there last weekend. If you stay just off the beach (we were one row back), the rates are more affordable and, as noted, you get sewer hookups. After September 7, the winter rates go into effect and the prices drop quite a bit.

Best florida beach parks in the panhandle are Henderson Bch SP-Destin(W&E only), St Andrews SP-Panama City Bch(W&E only) Topsail Hill SP- near Destin (FHU) Grayton Bch SP-Ft Walton bch area (some FHU sites). Great time of year to go but be concious of tropical weather, enjoy! I have pics of St Andrews and Topsail in my pics link

We stayed in Destin last year, I highly recommend it, but can't remember the name of the campground, it was across the street from the beach front w/full hook ups.

Don't forget to wash the under carriage as well as the out side salt spray is hard on the RV.

St Augustine, FL on the east coast has a CG on the beach sorry can't remember the name.

Are you sure about that? I always thought the winter rates in Florida went up and not down...
