Propane on.....parked, traveling, refueling heck sometimes I even smoke a cigarette right next to the refrigerator.

Note: I have only turned my propane off, when required, to travel thru some tunnel systems and then I turn it back on.

If you had been in this rig Bad Accident would you have wanted your propane on with refrigerator running?

Yes always, because I frequently travel in the heat of summer, I want my food cold enough to prevent illness. You can post pictures of RV wrecks till the cows come home and it still won't change the fact that the risk of illness due to spoiled food in a warm fridge is FAR GREATER than the remote risk of fire.

The only time the propane is turned off is while crossing the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. Get off at the first exit in Va Beach, there's a grocery store with a big enough parking lot to pull into, and turn it back on. Otherwise, it stays on. When fueling, I turn off the frig for the few minutes it takes.

Who says the propane wasn't on?

Do you really believe having propane on/off would have made a difference?

leave it on or turn it off, I always turn mine off when traveling, why? because the darn things burn real hot when they do catch fire. I use ice packs in the frig when traveling and refreeze at night. Have never had any thing, including milk go bad with my system. Our local town station had a real scary fire with a MH that didn't turn off the frig when refueling. including a 15000 gallon propane tank right next to the MH. I must say, Our fire dept did an excellent job of keeping the tank cool and putting out the MH fire. Priority was on the tank, the MH was completely destroyed. I just don't like taking chances with my life or my property.

That will certainly make you think. If you have an accident, not necessarily as bad as that one, with the propane on and some of the pipes are ruptured, there's a good chance sparks could start a fire.
Just something to think about.....

Always on, except when refilling the propane tank. The guy filling it always turns it off and when he's done, turns it back on.
