I wonder how many of you turn off your propane tanks before hitting the road ? I have always left mine on to keep the fridge going. Is this too big a risk ?

I only turn mine off when I'm storing the TT. If I'm using it, traveling or parked, I leave it on.
edit to add: I don't advise anyone else to do the same.

You will get a lot of responses, probably on this one. We leave ours on, except when fueling. I'll get the popcorn ready.

Installed an inverter and thought it would be a good idea to run the fridge off of it while traveling but I went back to using propane as it appears to cool better using that mode at least on my Dometic. Never gave the safety concerns much thought as they are designed to run on propane when on the road.

I can't remember the last time I turned it off and no one has ever ask me to do so while traveling.

Yes this will get lots of responses. You will find the majority of us run with the propane on so the fridge stays properly cool. A few out there will say that they turn it off and their fridge stays cool enough, but without a calibrated thermometer they have no way of knowing if their food is truly safe or not. In my opinion, the remote risk of fire is far less than the very real risk of food borne illness should proper refrigeration not be maintained.

Thanks all! I really figured I would get a lot of replies advising me to keep it off during travel. I'm really surprised but glad I'm not alone in my thinking.
