As some may know, our MH is in the shop awaiting HWH to catch up on manufacturing jacks in order to replace our 2 front jacks that have failed. Long wait. We also have a cargo door that was damaged and needs to be removed to take it to our body shop to be repaired/repainted. It is attached with 4 pop rivets.

The shop called yesterday and told DH that it will take 4-5 hours at $115 per hour to remove the door and about the same to put it back on. So DH went to the shop today to see for himself. The manager and a tech accompanied him to the MH and told him that they would have to remove the awning, the front cargo door (the damaged one is in the rear)part of the side of the MH, part of the frame and a wheel well in order to get the damaged door off. DH asked them to give him a drill and he would get it off by drilling the rivets out in 4 minutes - just like the tech did the last time we needed one repaired.

They both stood there with their mouths open and could only utter "duhhh." DH came home with steam coming out of his ears.

I am going with DH to meet with the owner tomorrow to make sure that he keeps his cool.

Is it just stupidity or do they not want our business or is it just trying to rip us off? I can't figure it out. Once, they tried to sell us on installing a whole 10 gallon hot water heater because they could not find the manufacturer of the continuous hot system which I found online in about a minute and then ordered the part myself.

It's like pulling teeth without novacaine to do business with these people! Why?

PS if this post is in the wrong place, please move it.

So, from what you're saying, this isn't the first time you've dealt with these people and were unhappy with their service. Is that correct?
