You are correct. Replacing jacks is not a big deal. It sounds to me like hubby could remove the jacks and you could deal directly with HWH and get the whole thing done.

BTW could the jacks be rebuilt? HWH does that also.

Yes, I understand the jacks can be rebuilt, but the price we were quoted for re-built versus brand new was less than $100 so we opted for new. Probably yet another mistruth by the dealer.

I've had similar experiences at the shop I used to frequent. I'm about to try someplace new. Very tired of asking that work be done only to have some half-baked POS fix done, or to find out later that the work was NOT done, and to have them recommend expensive fixes for stuff that isn't even broken yet. Sorry, I'm done with you.

Looking for a new chassis place now in CT...

There is no way I would let my rig stay in the custody of that operation. You need to go get it. Do the jacks yourselves and find your own B&F shop to do the door. These guys are going to burn you real good one of these times. Maybe they are the only game in town and there in lies the problem. They think they are untouchable. Teach them that they are not and get out of there.

Tell Stanley to take several deep breaths. I can imagine how high his blood pressure is!

I did a quick BBB check. This is some of what BBB says of Brent's RV.
"Based on BBB files, this business has a BBB Rating of C on a scale from A+ to F."

Try a specialty shops that does hydraulic equipment repairs around your town -- they can probably make your jack as good a new for a reasonable price.

Those jacks are pretty easy to replace yourself. I have replaced both the kickdown and the straight down ones.

I honestly believe that a lot of repair shops try to take advantage of people not having any knoweledge of these types of things. A lot of people do not have any mechanical ability and they make a lot of money based on that fact. This time however they got caught playing the game by someone (Stanley) that obiviously can do things for themselves. Stanley knows that you can drill out rivets thus they got caught. Pretty basic skill for the do it yourselvers.

I will bet Stanley removed the DOOR from the Door Track. What the Service center was doing, was to remove the other doors and fender skirt to SLIDE all the other doors and Fender Skirt down the floorline track and then remove the damaged door. That would be the correct way on some model RV doors. Yes, it does take time to do that. As long as the customer is OK with drilling out the mount rivets, that would be the better way to do. Some RV's you do not have anyway to drill out the door from the rail mount track. I don't believe they were trying to rip off Stanley. They were just incompetant, and did not look at the BEST way to accomplish the task. But, it remains, WHY ANYONE WOULD CONTINUE A BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP WITH A SHOP THAT HAS CONTINUALLY SHOWN INCOMPETANCE. Doug
