when I am at home hooked up or filling I don't use a filter because the water is good. if I am at a park where I am unsure I use an everpure filter on the end of the hose I connect between the park water and my motorhome.

Be careful with the inline filters filling you fresh water tank. Most of the filters remove the clorine from the water and will cause the water to go bad in short order, especially during the hot months. The whole house type filters work the best.

Lowes, Home Depot and other hardware stores sell the GE SmartWater whole house filter housings and hose fittings needed. Cost is about $25 as I recall.
They also sell sediment fitter cartridges and charcoal cartridges. I use the 5 micron charcoal cartridges and they cost about $13 for two. They last two to four months depending on water quality.
I set mine up with quick disconnect fittings and it is in the service bay.

Probably the best way is to install a "whole house filter system" that will filter water from the pressure water connection or your storage tank and provide sweet pure water to all faucets in the RV. Good luck / Skip

Something like this at your favorite big box store. Some of the features I like, water shutoff or bypass at the filter (so you don't have to shut the water off on the whole rig), clear filter bowl (So you can see the filter), common filter (so you can buy them anywhere).
