Got some at my local Wally World. It is in the laundry soap isle. It is a water softener and was located on the bottom shelf in a smaller white bottle.

Use liquid - easier to find. You can buy liquid Calgon in any grocery, Wal-Mart, etc. in Indianapolis. Bought some today at Kroger.

Do a Google search on "Calgon water softener where to buy." It brought up about 84,000 links. I didn't read all of them ( ), but Wal-Mart was mentioned frequently.

This thread reminds me of the Calgon commercial that used to run endlessly, where the woman said "Calgon, take me away!".

In my experience Walmarts in areas with soft water don't carry it. When I do find it I buy two or three bottles and it usually lasts until I find some more.

The OP may have seen the "original" Geo-Method & Calgon *powder*.

The Calgon powder has pretty much vanished from market shelves -

But - *LIQUID* Calgon is pretty easy to find in the laundry aisles.

BTW - tried alternate powdered water softeners - didn't dissolve as well as Calgon.

Bingo! If there's no demand, the local stores won't carry it. The only place I've ever seen it within hundreds of miles of Boston was at a small local market that catered to an urban community that was a mix of immigrants and yuppies.... somebody must have requested it. As noted, in communities that buy it you'll find it in the laundry aisle in a little white bottle, though I found mine on the top shelf (in Laramie, WY) rather than the bottom.
