We've been here for 3 months now.... and for three months we have been putting up with crummy wireless internet (Sprint Aircard). We are at the bottom of a slope and only about 10' above sea level. Any way, connection to the internet was a hit or miss thing, slow in any case.
A few days ago I was up on the roof and brought my laptop up with me "just to see if it made a difference". It did. So I stopped in the local Radio Shack and bought a 10' USB extension cable.

Well... like they say... necessity is the mother of invention. In any case using the handle from a swifter (or whatever that fuzzy thing was at one end of it, I taped the aircard to it, covered it with a gallon plastic storage bag, taped it shut and fixed the handle to the awning support with a couple bungies and a bit of tape.
So far it works great!

You won't believe what we used to do to be able to use our cell phones in "a hole". Suction cup hooks to the top of the inside of the windshield so we could hang up our cell phone, put it on speaker and "yell" at it. That was before wireless ear devices.

I'll bet you were in the Army some time in your life! It's stuff like this we had to do in the Army all the time to get anything to work, especially when stationed in Korea!
I also bet you have a very good imagination and a creative flair! Maybe you should get a Patton now?

I use a Linksys WGA-54G (Wireless Game Adapter) this is kind of like your USB adapter save instead of a USB port it has a common LAN type port (Cat-5 cable) it also has its own power brick.
I currently have it on the roof
I've been known to "Run it up the flagpole)
I have set it under either the front or back of the rig when I had a clear view of the park router.
I"ve see it up to 80 feet away from the rig, to get a strong signal
Very nice and very handy... Bit tricky at set up but I'm getting better at it.
Nothin adds excitment like something that is none of your business

Well, I must be some kinda dunce ...you put the aircard on the swiffer rod? My air card is attaches to my computer in a usb port, it is an older AT&T one that sticks out of the side of the computer...a real PIA ...so this doesn't make any sense to me. What am I missing?
