Please advise on this problem. When I bought an rv last year, I purchased a round top shelter from Jewett-Cameron Companies, and assembled it myself. 12'wide x 12'6" x 32" long. The end opening had a zipper all the way around to close the panel. The structure worked just great, keeping the rv protected well. We live in MN in the country and have a partially hidden place for the structure. After several months I began to notice the extreme wearing of the polyethelene roof skin. Also, the snow did not slide off the top as I had envisioned. However, the worst problem was the poor quality of the tarp material. The final blow was a thunderstorm, with high winds. It did not just blow the material off, the material shredded. The frame was fine.
So--Has anyone else used this type of shelter? If so, what kind and what is your experience with it. I am thinking possibly of having a new cover made, and using the existing frame. Thanks

If the frame is strong enough, I would switch to sheet metal. It would outlast any fabric you could buy.

I vote for a pole barn. It would cost just a bit more but would last 50 times longer.

If the shelter is only a year old , the manufacturer should replace it under warrenty if not at a reduced price for the inconveniance.another option is contact the manufacturers of the large agricultural or construction buildings and see if you can get some of there vinyl . this stuff is strong and will last for years also comes in different colors Good luck
The other posters on here seem to be pretty free with your money I would love a pole barm as well

I have never used the RV garage that you mention but I have used tarps that are the same material.
That stuff is only good for temporary shelter, I wouldn't expect it to last long.

I just don't see how you could use that fabric type of material in a heavy snow country, due to the excessive weight. Sounds like something that should be installed in the southern states.
