I just had my front & rear pads replaced plus rotors turned for the 1st time June 17th. Odometer reads 87,040 mile on 1999 F53. Cost was $708.42 & I'm curious how that compares?

I replaced my rear pads at around 45,000 miles (could have gone farther but we were headed to Alaska). The fronts were replaced at 55,000 miles.
I simply extend the levelers to their max and then use a 6 ton jack to JUST get the wheel off the ground. A long crowbar makes it easy to get the wheel back on the axle.

The top of the line brake pads at Auto Zone were about $85.00 per axle. When you turn the rotors you'll need about $30.00 worth of wheel seals and another couple hours labor for the turning and repacking the wheel bearings. Labor in our area is about $100.00 - $115.00 at truck shops

My fronts are all done, total cost break down was $50. for the top of the line semi metallic pads,2 inner seals 16. each,1 tub of high temp bearing grease 6., 2 cans of high temp caliper paint and 2 cans of acrylic enamel for 25.,turn rotors 50.,gallon brake fluid 20. 3 cans brake clean 12. 1 tube of sil glide for 8. if my math is right that's $183.00 total and now everything is nice and clean and painted, also it gave me a chance to do a close inspection of the bearings and race's. The $708 dbates paid for front and rear seems a fair price to me,although I wouldn't pay it,because I can do it myself for lots less and I get to look at lots of other things while doing it.

Were the AutoZone pads for $85 the Cmax ceramic pads?
Have them on several of our vehicles and really like them. Did not know they were available for the F-53 or not.

Correction on my previous post. I did a brake job on both the motorhome and my Ford truck this spring. The brake pads I put on the motorhome were from NAPA not Auto Zone. The ceramic ones From Auto Zone went on my Ford truck.
The NAPA pads only cost $60.00 per axle and were semi metallic not Ceramic.
