It seems that DH & I are in the minority of those who don't have Caller ID. We have noticed that people who call us seem to expect that we have it as they don't identify themselves when calling.

I checked the price for it today on the Verizon website today for land line and was surprised to find that it was $9.25 per month. The last time I had looked at it the cost was $5-6 range.

We do have it on the cell for no extra charge.

Do you have it and how much does it cost? I just don't feel it justifies the cost...

We have it on both the land line and both cell phones. I have no idea what it costs, never looked at it. I just pay the bill every month.
Both bills are what I consider reasonable, so I don't worry about the amount for each item.

I just looked at my Verizon bill. There is no line item charge for "caller ID" though I have it on all three phones. Must be built in to the "family" package charge.

$2/month for Cell phone & $6/month for land line. I'm thinking of dropping the land line one but I would miss the cell one if I didn't have it.

Really don't worry about 'who' is calling.....when phone rings I answer it or don't.....my phone/my choice. I refuse to be tethered to a phone, heck most of the time I don't even know where the dang thing is anyway.
And if I don't answer and the caller doesn't leave an informative message then it ain't that important so I don't worry about.....let them call back.

Don't have caller ID and really have no interest in it. We answer the phone if were home and if we are not home or are eating dinner the answering machine takes the call.

Our landline service is through our cable company, and Caller ID is included at no extra charge, and displays on the phones that are equipped for it, and also in a small box on our TV screens.

I don't have "Caller ID" on either house phone or cell phone because I have all of my friends and other pertinent people and businesses programed into both phones...

like my VA doctors, Home Depot, Lowe's, bank, ... etc ... etc....

Heck, each phone will hold a hundred names and phone numbers in it's memory..

.... so when either phone rings I simply look at the little screen to see who is calling..

If the screen does not show a name, I simply don't answer the phone... and they can leave a message or hang up..

I see no reason to pay the phone company for something I don't really need..

But, then, that's just me ... and everybody is different...

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.
