Thanks everyone for the responses. We will go with the sticker only if RV'ing for at least one night. Now the DW and I can motor on down the road with one less issue to discuss...

We spent a week visiting NYC. We stayed in Jersey City, NJ and never spent a night in NY. But we did spent about a small fortune in NYC. I think that should count for a NJ and NY sticker.

Not that it settles your argument, but we decided on our own rule for the map:

We visited together (stayed at one night or toured a place of mutual interest, at the same time).

For us, it has nothing to do with the RV. RV travel is just a small part of 40+ years together.

Separately, we've each visited some places the other has never been, U.S. and globally, although we've been working to make that up, in the time we have left, and trying to go places neither of us has never been.

You need to agree on something, doesn't matter what, as much as it does that you agree.

It's your map, do whatever you want. I don't care.

We have the state map also. What we've done is place the state sticker on the map if we travel through and if we camp, add a little star (comes with the set) on that state showing that we camped there over night. Just our way of doing it. It's up to you. Most of the states have the star, but a few small states we just drove through. We got our set at Camping World

Well everyone should establish their own criteria... and those they share it with... should respect their decision. I call it the ability "to agree... to disagree".....

Here were my rules...

1) If I spent the night... definitely worthy of a sticker...
2) If I stopped and visited attractions, but did not spend the night... definitely worthy of a sticker
3) If I only stopped for gas... or to eat lunch at a rest area... No Sticker!
4) If I visited without the camper... No Sticker! (Because that meant no wife! LOL) <--- This rule is changing though... As I've been to some awesome places with the jeep or mc, with no camper and no wife and she could really care less about the decal! Just wish someone had the old style maps with all solid colors....
