Has anyone had any problems with Good Sam Roadside Emergency? We were planning to subscribe since our camper (2000) and truck (2002) are getting older.

Had to use them twice this summer within a week and both times they were very quick to respond and took great care of me. Broke a high pressure line on my truck the first time and the second time was because of a mistake the Ford mechanic made when fixing the truck the first time. Both times they arranged everything for me from the campground to the towing of both the truck and 5th wheel. Didn't cost me anything out of pocket and I know the tow bill alone would have been six or seven hundered dollars.

After reading many threads like this - my conclusion is that people have trouble with ALL roadside assistance plans when the local help is not good or cannot be contacted. In other words - it depends greatly where and when you need help. For example, if you get stuck in the sand on a tribal reservation near the tri-border of California/Nevada/Arizona at 1:00 a.m. - good luck because you're in for a long night and you will be whining about the service.

On the other hand - if you need assistance at 10:00 a.m. on a Tuesday in Salt Lake City - you'll be happy with the service.

Talk to the animals. They will talk back to you. If you don't talk to the animals, they won't talk back to you, and you will fear and when you fear animals you will destroy, and if you destroy the animals, you will destroy yourself.

We've used them for tows, lockout service, and tire change and repair. Very satisfactory service. Once took a while because the wrecker had to come over Wolf Creek Pass & through construction in Colorado to get to us between Creede and Lake City. Towed us to Alamosa and then had to go back to his home. All together for him counted up several hours and 160 miles to get us to a Dodge dealer. Took us to a campground where he unloaded our truck so we could remove our TC, reloaded the truck and took it to the dealer. Very satisfactory service.

I personally have had no problems with Good Sam ERS, but if you do a search on Good Sam ERS, you'll have plenty of reading.

Was VERY happy we had it yesterday. Major tire blow out. Had it fixed within an hour and back on the road. Going to renew again.

I've had them for years. The one time I needed help GS told me that the problem I had wasn't covered. I had my trailer hitch key break off in the lock. I couldn’t get out of the parking lot because my hitch dropped down and scraped the parking lot. GS did say they would give me the number to a local lock smith. If I needed a tow I'm sure they would have helped. I was very disappointed in GS ERS. I can see their point of view. The manager of the hotel helped me get the lock off.

You may want to compare between Good Sams and Coachnet. Do a search on both.
