This may be a pipe dream, but is there a reason I cannot vent my dryer through the roof instead of out the wall? The reason I'm asking is I have relocated the dryer to the opposite wall because my wife wanted a residential refrigerator.(She's afraid of the Rv types). The actual relocation was not bad, but if I vent through the wall, I'll have to have the new vent repainted to match. I'm thinking something like a refrigerator vent.

I don't know for sure, but I think that they vent it out the side in order to get the moisture laden air out of the system as soon as possible.

Trying to push it up a stack may allow it to cool and give up its moisture onto the sides of the stack, allowing it to wash back to the bottom. The moisture along with the entrained dryer lint would make a nasty slush in the bottom of the stack.

There are lots of times that Dryer Vents have to be routed upwards . It does require additional maintenance though due to accumulations of Lint and Moisture so be sure to provide an easy access to the pipe!

The Door Knob who installed the Dryer in Our Stick House didn't!

Check with the dryer manufacturer to be sure. You can with residential brands.

They make a chrome vent for the washer/dryer and that would look OK, no need to paint. I am not a fan of making holes it the top of my coach, my house, or anything else.

Yeah, I quess the moisture combined with lint does not sound like a good combination. I'll have to look into the chrome cover, don't think I've seen them before. Of course the old vent had to be right on the edge of one of the stripes so it has two colors on it.

If you have a link for a metal vent I would like to have it.

Thank you

If you do decide to go up to the roof, you can buy a inline fan to give you that extra push you need. ..Happy Trails..

Another thing to think about is the fact that your stack would need to be the same diameter as the discharge on you dryer, probably 3" or 4". Since the walls are not that thick, you would have to box it in.
