How many of you honestly and without fail check all your tires with a pressure gauge before starting out, each and every day before traveling?

Not with a manual tire gauge, but part of my getting ready to roll check includes a walk around with a visual tire condition check, and checking the pressure readings from all 10 tires on the TPMS before pulling out.

I check my tires BEFORE every trip (religiously) with a good tire gauge and I have not had to add air since I took off the TST monitors. (since January).

When I had the system attached to the air stems, I can't tell you how many times I had to pull out my compressor and add air to the tires. I got sick and tired of messing with it and removed them.

I think a good tire pressure monitoring system is a good idea, mine just didn't work right which was a waste of $599.

No we did not but the son would shoot them with the temp gun when we stopped.

Now with the automatic 24/7 tire gauge we check them more often.

I used to not move my rig without putting the tire gauge on every tire, but since the TST monitoring system, no more getting wet or dirty, just turn it on and check them all in a minute. And no air loss from any leaking senders.

Every trip every time before we got our TST, now I let that do it. Like Mr Mark we have had a few issues with them leaking. I need to contact TST to see if there are any updates. I like the system a bunch.


There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

I let pressure pro do it for me and during the day I cycle through all tire location on a "just wondering schedule". When we stop I use the infra temperature gauge to check the temperatures.

IMHO, checking your tires with a guage before each trip is a must--that being said, checking them every morning is a bit "OVER THE TOP" You will not find even one trucker who does this. I "thump" my tires every morning, and check heat on the duals every time I stop. This should suffice. Again, my opinion, and everyone should do what ever it takes to make them confortable.

I also used my Pressure Pro to check the pressure, the 1st 8 months we owned the system. Then it went on the fritz and would give false readings, high and low, so now I do NOT trust the Pressure Pro system. The company had me return the monitor and 2 sending units, at my expense, even though it was under warranty. They said they fixed it, but I still do NOT trust it, so it is nothing more than a door stop, as far as I am concerned.

NO. Before putting on a P Pro system I checked my tires at the beginning of each trip. Then each time I stopped for fuel, at a rest area, and end of the day I'd temp the tires with a IR gun. Each morning on the walk around I would check how much of the bottom of each tire was in contact with the ground. As long as the temps were the same and the footprint was the same I never took out my tire gauge. Now with P Pro I check all tires before starting and then again after a hour to see how much the pressure has increased (usually 10%).
