Converter, not inverter. Converter converts AC power to DC power. Inverter converts DC power to AC power.

For future reference to prevent overheating your rig's wiring or blowing a circuit when traveling in cold weather run a separate heavy duty extension cord thru the slide, window or other applicable opening directly to the 20 amp plug for a dedicated line to your cube heater heater.

Though bulky you may want to look into oil filled heaters:

DeLonghi Oil Filled Heaters
Product Features
* Portable, oil-filled radiator provides economical, efficient operation
* ComforTemp technology maintains optimal temperature in the room
* 3 heat settings; specially designed thermal slots; low surface temperature
* Smart-snap wheels; noiseless operation; wrap-around cord design
* Measures 13-4/5 by 9 by 25-1/5 inches

yes, as somebody has pointed out the GFI might be upstream from the outlet that isn't working.

As an electrican I made a good living fixing that problem. The outlets that they use in RV;s are nothing but junk (Read cheap) the wires are pressed in and you make contact by peircing the insulation and pushing around the copper conductor. There is no firm mechanical connection other than when you put the back of the outlet on. Put two fingers together and take a finger from the other hand and lay it in the grove of the two fingers together. That shows you how the connection is made. You had so much current going through that the contact burnt up. The nice thing about the rv outlets is that you don't cut the wire when you go from one outlet to another ( the wires continous) so the proplem is most likely the outlet that dosen't work.

GFCI's "do not" trip from overload they trip from stray voltage.
The socket you were plugged into may have burnt the wiring or you have tripped a circuit breaker in the main power box.

I agree with the above electricians comments. If no breakers are tripped chances are you burned up a connection at the device.

In some cases if you have an outside plug or a plug in the basement those will also be a GFI plug so check those also...

If you still have AC power on the other circuits then the inverter is not the problem. It is either a GCFI that you have not located, or you may have actually fried the breaker. Switch breakers if you can. Make sure to power down everything first.
