I sold MH today and i'm coming to the darkside. Hope you guys don't mind stupid questions, I'm on the hunt for a 5er.
Thanks

The only stupid questions are the ones you should have asked but didn't.

Besides the wealth of information you'll find here, when you narrow your choices down a bit, check out the various owners club forums (most brands have one) for more brand specific input.

Best of luck in your search.

Hi,

http://www.rvsearch.com/

Is one place to look for RV's. You can put in the length and type of trailer, search by zip code, brand, ect.

Have fun shopping!

Good Luck,

Fred.

Whatever you do either pick out the truck and then the 5er to match the towing capability of the truck OR VICE VERSA...

To OP and all, My rig is so OLD that I simply can't help with new rig decisions. So out of Kindness and the spirit of helping others, I will go to the Tulsa RV show this weekend just to help you all out. I wonder if I can talk DW into letting me buy one to help the economy as well. I love doing good things for others!!!

fwiw I sold mine via rv online.com I got more than a dealer would offer me and my buyer paid much less than a dealer would have asked... the classic win/win.

We did some used shopping... but found a lot of delusional ads on the newer/clean units. I can only guess that some people pay near sticker new then try to sell for 60-70% of what they paid a few years later... apparently unaware that new units can be had at a discount.

Good luck in the search! I envy the Class A's during setup, but love my rig for living space.

We did the same thing in 02 and have never looked back. How many miles on your 04 F250 Diesel? or are you just looking at one?
I see you have been here a while so you know what to expect.

You are correct, I am not new to this trailer towing. I pulled a show truck on the circuit for 10 years with a gooseneck so I'm not concerned about towing. My truck only has 88K miles on it and just had the EGR, cooler, and head gaskets done.

Welcome to 5th-wheeling. Look at sites that handle consignment sales to get a feel for used prices. The used prices also let you know how much depreciation to expect if you buy a new one. Bottom line is have fun and don't spend too much time looking backwards. You are going to be too busy in the present to waste time on the past.
