We were watching the news last night and they said RV sales are up 136% for the year.

Good news but I wonder why attendance was significantly down at the recent RV show in Cali. Hard to say why but glad that RV sales are rebounding.

Everything cycles in life. We have been up and down, won and lost, strong and weak, for all of my years on earth. That is why doomsayers don't hold much sway for me anymore. I have to take about 51% off every thing I read or think before I even consider a mental or emotional response to all the pundits out there.

I wonder why that is good news. More RVs on the road mean less choice in campsites.

In California, less choice in campsites is because the State is closing them down.
Also, while the increase in sales is nice, it still doesn't put sales anywhere near averages of 3-5 years ago.

Well, it's excellent news for those that work in the rv industry! But you're right, more competition for sites. I'm fine with that trade-off.

The reason sales are up is because of deep discounts of "aged" models unsold from 06-08 being sold as new units. Sort of like the cash for clunkers sales increasing new car sales 200%.

Info more than likely was a news release by RVIA.
