They have made some changes in the last month. We have been using the $30 plan for the last 20 days. We made a trip from Georgia to Northwestern Pennsylvania. Coverage was pretty good everywhere except in West Virgina. The changes they have made are that they have added extra phones and the $45 plan did not have unlimited data. Unless that has also changed the web access is not hardly worth it. I tried to find the score of my high school team this past weekend. I found out that they had won, but could not find an article with the score. The weather is easy enough to use; however, we did not get it for the web, we got it for the phone service. DW enjoyed the texting feature. We will probably end up using only 325 text, 700 minutes, and 6 MB of the 30 MB web. We are very happy with it, just wish the phone with the keyboard was available a month ago.

Can you switch plans up and down as you need? Are these phones available in local walmarts?

at 30MBytes, you are good for about 1 website. After that 30MB the cost will most likely skyrocket.

I had tracphone service for quiet a few years and found that there were places like Disney World and surrounding area had no service....plus once away from cities we lost service and the way the service worked then you bought minutes for a certain amount of months and if you did not use them the time would expire and you would have to renew ...the minutes would roll over ....it was so annoying to have the time expire while on a trip with no way to renew and a zillion minutes but no service so we kicked them to the curb....also the customer service sucked...

Here is the information on Straight Talk, from their website. Many of the "answers" here are not even close to the truth. Read the truth on the website.

There are a million stories, but I for one have had terrific service from Tracfone. I have been with them for over 10 years now, with short periods where I tried others. I can't understand how you could let your time expire, they sell their cards just about everywhere there is a cash register. I personally buy by the year, roll over minutes, big free minute packages, free phone, great service. I am the only person on our section of the resort in Florida that can make a call from with in my motor home. Most have to go out in the street to make a call.( other providers). Tracfone uses 3 different top providers so, your calls go to the best signal. All for about $90.00 a year.
