Steer Safe for us was well worth installing.

CW installed mine and there was very little improvement in road handling with the exception of 18 wheelers blowing by did not seem to move me around near as bad.

I think Steer Safe is primarily designed to keep the wheels straight in case of a blow out.

CW probably did not do a proper install, if that is all the improvement you saw. If installed with the "correct" tension, you should have noticed a large improvement. But it takes a little effort to do it right and CW has never shown me that they put forth that little effort, in their service bays.

I installed a Steer Safe on a previous MH and the installation was easy and quick. The results were fine and it did help the vehicle tracking.
The way I adjusted it was not quite by the "trial and adjust" method in the instructions. I taped a wire pointer to my dash and put a piec of masking tape on the top of the steering wheel. I then took the coach out on the highway and when it was tracking straight, I put a mark on the tape in front of the pointer.
After making sure that everything was tight on the Steer Safe, I then used the front leveler to lift the front wheels off of the ground so that they were free to turn. I then adjusted the Steer Safe so that the pointer and tape mark that I made lined up. I set the coach down and that was it. I never had to adjust the Steer Safe again and it tracked perfectly.
