RE: Seat cushion for bad back

I read reviews on the Backjoy and I ordered the one with memory foam. 60 bucks with free shipping. I'll let everyone know how it works.

Seat cushion for bad back

I have a lower back problem that causes discomfort (pain actually) in my butt and upper thighs after driving for an hour or so. I remember years ago the beaded seat cushions gave relief, but I can't find one that is decent quality and wide enough. I am broad in the beam. Has anyone discoverd the end all be all seat cushion for added comfort? Heated or not, vibration a plus, cost is not a huge object. Quality is. I drive a 40' DP that has flexsteel seats. Thanks for any help or suggestions. Mike

Tru Center vs Safe t Plus steering stabilizers

I want to have a steering stabilizer installed on my 40' DP. The Tru Center comes with a dash mounted trim adjustment button. I think it is an option with the Sfe T Plus. Any input on which might be the better unit would be appreciated. My main concern is for blow out handling. Thanks, Mike

Xantrex problem SOLVED!!!

Regarding my post from earlier today, what I found out may help someone else: Before I tore into things, I called Xantrex Customer Service. He said my problem sounded like the "Load Sense" was not adjusted properly. That meant that if the inverter did not sense enough of a load to turn on, it would just immediately turn off and then back on etc. He walked me through the various settings and got me to "Load Sense" which was in the "on" setting. He told me to turn it "off". Problem solved and everything works fine. He said that most people leave the load sense in the off position instead of messing with entering whatever load it might take to keep the inverter on. much simpler. Happy Travels, Mike

RE: Xantrex 2000 watt inverter problem

Thanks to all. My panel indicator shows full charge on the batteries but I don't know if it is just checking chassis batteries or all of them together. I'll check connections next. The inverter clicks on and off even when the fridge is turned off.

Xantrex 2000 watt inverter problem

I have an '05 Alpine with the Amana residential fridge. I am still learning the control panel and how to work the inverter. Recently, I tried to switch to the inverter to run the fridge. No shore power connected. The lights on the front panel of the fridge then began clicking on and off. I also heard an "on and off" clicking from under the coach. Is there someting I either did or did not do to make this happen? I know there is a reset switch on the inverter. Where do I start? The inverter had run everything fine in the past. Batteries are only a year old. Thanks in advance, Mike

Expensive lesson with Shureflow pump

Our 05' 40' Alpine DP did not come with all the manuals when I bought it last summer. We have always been in RV parks with it until now. Getting it ready for our first dry camping outing, I sanitized the water tank. I then turned on the pump, got very low flow and the pump would not shut off. I naturally figured "bad pump". $260.00 and much contortion later, I had the new pump in. With a smile of satisfaction, I turned on the new pump and PRESTO!! It did the same thing as the old pump. Long story short, after flooding the basement trying to track down the problem, I discovered that once the fresh tank is full, the select lever for "fresh water fill" and "city water" must be in the "city water" position. Now, perfect water pressure and the pump shuts right off when the faucet is turned off. Expensive lesson, but hope it will be of use to someone else. At least I have a good spare pump now!

30 amp electric and 2 a/c units

My 40' dp has 50 amp input. I have heard somewhere that there is a method or device to let you run 2 a/c units when you are in a park with 30 amp service. Does anyone know about this or is it just my imagination? Thanks in advance, Mike

motorhome Window Shades

We have Day Night shades in our '05 40' pusher. The blinds on the curb side were damaged by a previous owner and need replacing. Unfortunately, Camping World has discontinued our colors! I have also heard there is a better alternative to day/night blinds and was wondering if anyone else has information on a better system or are day/night the cream of the crop and stay with that. Thanks and happy travels! Mike
