RE: Portable Air Compressors

Bought one from HF over 4 years ago (3ga), still going strong. I changed out the 1/4" hose for a 3/8" hose. It was cheap.:b

Beef up the hitch, lose the spare and excess fuel, and use aux brakes. Should be good to go.:b

RE: dolly vs 4 down

It is a no brainer. Having a tow dolly gives one the versatility of towing virtually any front wheel drive vehicle made without additional expense. I never had a problem with storage of the dolly at RV parks, the dolly fit under the MH at those parks that I had to unhook it. I recently purchased another 4WD vehicle for towing 4 down. The cost of the brackets, wiring and brake kits and labor (I'm getting lazy in my old age)approached $1000.

RE: Finally, Scangauge D for Diesels

Looks like a great conversation piece, don't know if it is very practical. When does one look at the road, if one does that?

RE: Steering Stabilizers (Roadmaster Refex)

Can't comment on the Roadmaster Reflex system as we have the Steer Safe installed on our coach and it handles quite well in the cross winds. Hope I never find out how it handles a blowout.:b

RE: What fuel mileage should I expect? Is this a good set up?

Why chance it? For 91K out the door there are definitely DP's out there with the tow capacity you require to make it totally unnecessary. Then there is also the issue of Ford's drivetrain warranty, what happens when/if something goes wrong?

RE: slight distinctive popping when turning

Since it is a P chassis, check the upper and lower control arm bushings, one of them could be bad. Front air bag pressure?

RE: OMG PLEASE HELP!!!

he knows how it goes back together
his problem it didn't want to
his only lack, is the little tips and tricks that you learn by asking or by being shownHe does not know how it goes back together, if he did he would not be having this problem. In the matter of importance, proper operating brakes are too important to be done by an untrained DIY'er. Some things are better off if left to professionals.

RE: Add on lights for toad, can't see them

Most problems with tow lights are caused by the dim wits who wired them up.

RE: Small cracks in tires

I am on my second RV, on both the first thing I did was replace the tires since I had no idea how they had been cared for. On the first rig, one of the tires that was removed from the rear had been driven on flat at one time. Better safe than sorry.

RE: Tires for our RV

You did not forget who invented radial tire, did you?Contray to popular opinion Michelin did not invent the radial tire. The inventor of the radial tire was Arthur W Savage, a tire manufacturer in San Diego, Ca. He patented the tire in 1915.

RE: 2001-2003 Suzuki XL-7

For what it is worth department. The Roadmaster bracket for your year XL-7 is out of production, and not scheduled to be produced until later this month. I ordered mine over a month ago from PPL, it was on sale at the time.

RE: Banks PowerPack Worth the money ?

THE RESULTS SO FAR:
Of ten owners who said they had a Banks system 9 said it was worth it and only 1 said it was not.
You are welcome to draw your own conclusions from the posts by owners who don't have Banks.
CraigBased on my experience MOST men will not admit that they spent TOO much. Just not macho.:b Since the same results can be obtained at a significantly lower price, the answer to the OP'ers question is it is not worth the extra money that a Bank's system commands.

RE: tires

Have to agree with The Texan about Michelins. I sold them and that was definitely their story line. Blame the consumer.
As to the Hankook's, initially sounds like an install problem. Did they break the tires down and remount and rebalance? Or did they stand there scratching themselves? If they have a spin balancer it is not too difficult to find an out of round tire, that is if they know what they are looking for. Best weigh your rig and then set your tire pressure, 65 does sound rather low.

RE: Windshield Covers, what do you like?

Avoid anything with snaps. Standing on a ladder on uneven ground is not my idea of fun. It is dangerous.
