RE: BLACK MOUNTAIN RV PARK near Oatman Az

My in-laws used to live in Kingman and we drove that road to Oatman and don't remember even seeing a campground, that ws 3 or 4 years ago though so could be new! No posts in rvparkreviews either.

RE: fire extinguisher - fact or myth?

One to keep in mind on the frequency of shaking. 1 year would be for a unit in your S&B home. The RV is shaking going down the road and speeding up the settling process, so monthly or here is an idea how about everytime it leaves home or any extended, more than a couple days, stay?

RE: McGrath State Beach California

What I have read elsewhere like McGrath local communities and businesses have stepped in and helped.
In McGrath's case the city of Oxnard stepped in and picked up the tab to renovate the sewer system, and they will get the fees from the park users for next 5 or 10 years.

RE: Scary situation--help?

I had the wheel do that on my Ramcharger 4X4 but it did the first part not the second part, didn't correct itself. Turned out the steering box moved on the frame. Repositioned and retightened no further issue in 150,000 miles!

RE: Class A motor home vs. car for trip out west

Number of people will greatly influence the numbers and decision too. More mouths to feed each time and extra charges at the motel/hotels.
We did a trip years ago back to OK from CA and we drove back there in 2 days. Then we spent 3 or 4 days visiting relatives and the area and then spent a week coming home, stopping whenever we felt like it. Generally not more than 2 nights anywhere and more often only overnight but at a slower pace and stopping to check out whatever struck our fancy.

RE: tow dolly instructions

Not always a pin, but on the ones I looked before we bought ours, they either have a tie-rod going between the wheels, usually under the ramps. Or they have a large bolt in the center of the deck, which is what the deck pivots on. Any of these options and the wheel stays locked and the key can be removed.

RE: Electrical Problem

30 gallon water heater???? Big is usually 10 gallon. RV water heaters generally heat higher than home units so that through blending you get more hot water to use.
The fridge and water heater should both have a propane mode. On both it may be listed as gas, instead of propane.
Yes the batteries charge during the day but anything that runs off ac, 110 house voltage, will either run from the shore power or through an inverter.
The fridge should be fine running on ac while you are away also.
The biggie you can't do is run A/C, micro and water heater at the same time. BTW gas water heating will heat the tank in just a few minutes. Other possibility is while gone for the day leave the fridge and water heater on ac while you are gone. Just remember to turn the water heater off when you get back before using the micro or a/c.

RE: Need help for correct tire pressure

Weight of vehicle ready to roll and the tire manufacturer's chart recomendation is the only "accurate" way to decide. Now if you get a weight for each tire position and apply that to the chart you will have the best setting, along with may find a loading problem with overloading one position!
Next best is axle weights, make sure you have your exact model and size of tire along with load rating, a letter. While you may put the same tire size on as a replacement the manufacturer may rate the tire lower or higher than originial tire so the placard may not be any help.
The only exception is if the recommended pressure is above the wheel rating, which means you have the wrong tires or wheels on. :s

RE: Electrical Problem

We plug into 20 amp at home to load and unload the moho. That will run the fridge and a couple of lights here and there but a 50 amp rig won't run much hooked to 15 or 20 amp. :(

Another vote for Orangeland for real close and a vote for Canyon RV which is farther out but much bigger sites and not in the city.

RE: Physical problems and Class A's

There was a Funmover handicap version, wider door from the garage area and wider door into the bathroom along with aisle wide enough to use a wheelchair. We had looked at them when my wife was in a wheelchair several years ago. She was in an electric chair so weight was an issue also.

RE: refrigerator

If the fridge is off one possibility is the ice maker was full when turned off and the water never froze and splashed out.
We always turn the water off to the icemaker the last night before going home, when even use the icemaker, and that will allow it to run and mostly empty the tray so not much to wipe out later.
