RE: TV Antenna

We installed the Jack on our unit and we love it. Here's a little write-up on the installation.

RE: RV Antenna for wifi to increase the range

If you are serious about your WiFi reception, get a Crane US3 Super USB Antenna.
Another one that many people are not aware of is the Alfa Tube-U.
Connects Directly to all Alfa high-gain antennas including panel omni and yagi
High-Power 1W with N-type female antenna connector for long-Range Distance and High Speed transfer rate up to 150Mbps
2.4GHz frequency band, MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output)
Support driver for Windows 98se, Me, 2000, XP and Vista, Windows 7, Apple Mac and Linux.
Support wireless data encryption with 64/128-bit WEP, WPA (TKIP with IEEE 802.1x) and AES functions.
A suitable antenna is the Yagi style. Many other antenna options are available.

RE: Why no cheap no frills overnight w/elec offered?

No one running a park wants to just earn a living, they want to get rich. Generally speaking, of course.

RE: Money

Not much cash is needed since we can easily get cash back at any major retailer. We have accounts with Bank of America and USAA so a free ATM is never far away if we need one.

RE: RV parks near downtown San Antonio

Is that a retired veteran, or any veteran? I did my 4 years and 2 months and got out.If any veteran, what do you need to prove it?
I showed them my VA card.

RE: RV parks near downtown San Antonio

We just spent 4 days at Travelers World RV Resort last week and it was nice. We had a back in site near the pool, bath house and laundry. They have pull through sites as well but a little further from those amenities. The park is very neat and well kept and we got a 10% discount on the weekend and if you are a veteran, you get 50% off Sun-Thu.
It costs $1.10 to ride the bus to downtown (each way, per person) and the bus stop is right in front of the park. Do NOT come in on Southcross Rd as there is a railroad crossing that is VERY steep! Come in on 410 from the south and come straight up Roosevelt. Leave the same way regardless of your final direction.
Here are our pictures from our stay.

RE: FULLTIMERS...what sewer hose do you use?

We have the red ones from Valterra. Still have the same ones after 2 years and still going strong. We have two 10' sections and one 5' section, as well as the 90 degree coupler that goes into the sewer drain.

RE: Best way to clean up oxidation from exterior walls

We just cleaned our heavily oxidized Class C with Meguiar's One Step Compound and it did a fantastic job! After we did the cleaning, we put on a coat of Nu Finish paste polish. The camper looks almost like it did new.

RE: What do like to see ,or do when traveling?

We love RoadsideAmerica.com stuff, love scenic drives and out of the way places. Old towns, unique towns, landmarks, etc. We detest cities and interstates, going there only when necessary.

RE: Baffled in App-Land...!

You do not need an app killer. Android will either idle or shut down any app not being used if resources are needed for an active app.
The TV Antenna Helper app will tell you which way to point your batwing.
FoxFi app will let you tether using the data plan you already pay for.

RE: Things to see along this route?

We chose the route step-by-step, road-by-road for varying reasons... none of which are written in stone after Memphis, TN.

RE: Reservations or no reservations?

We only make reservations if visiting a major tourist spot, such as Yellowstone. As full-timers, we can roll in on Wednesday and leave on Monday or Tuesday so we can always get a spot over a major holiday.

Things to see along this route?

Below is stage 1 of our intended summer travels. This stage starts in Mission, TX and goes to Dubuque, IA. From there we are headed to Yellowstone and all the great natural wonders in that corner of the US. Our question is this, based on the route for stage 1 shown below, what are some "must see" things along the way? To see a live version of the map, click here.
